Iksan, Mecca of Korean Jewelry

As an old capital of Mahan and Late Baekje, Iksan established brilliant metal culture. Also, according to the old papers excavated from Baekje Palace site 1400 years ago, Iksan has time-honored history in jewelry processing such as gold pot, glass pot and iron pot.

Iksan has the sole Jewelry Processing Complex of 66,000㎡, occupied by 120 companies, established by the government to foster jewelry industry as an export-specialized industry.

Iksan also possesses the Korea's larest jewelry selling center and Iksan Jewelry Museum, one of the largest jewelry museum in the world, owns about 110,000 items. The museum locates at Wanggung Jewelry Theme Park in Dongyong-ri Wanggung-myeon.

In addition, Iksan holds jewelry festival in spring and autumn. During the festival, you can buy jewelry at a discount and enjoy the beautiful jewelry in the hall.

Project to build jewelry industry cluster is underway. By integrating and linking jewelry-related facilities such as Wanggung jewelry Theme Park to other tourist spots, Iksan will leap forward as a central city of jewelry.

Iksan Jewlery Processing Complex and Jewelry Sale Center

• The 660,000㎡-scale Jewlery Processing Complex was established in 1975. The Jewelry Sale Center is the main driving force of Iksan jewelry industry that was built in 1989.
