Change from the Royal Palace to the Temple
Change from the Royal Palace to the Temple
The important buildings in the royal palace built during the reign of King Mu in the Baekje period were demolished and the temple was built. It is estimated that the change from the royal palace to the temple was during the late Baekje period, but it seems, when analyzing the artifacts excavated in the site, that the royal palace was managed until the Unified Silla period. The temple name was estimated by the roof tiles where the temple name was inscribed including Wanggungsa Temple, Daegwangwansa Temple and Gwangungsa Temple near the boundary wall and the temple sites.
